Superbreak
Now you have selected the
airline you wish to use for your trip, its simple to book. All
the airline sites work in the same way make your flight bookings.
Go to you selected airline and
select the departure airport and the destination airport, which for this
project is Amsterdam (Schiphol) then enter the dates of departure from
the UK and the date of departure from Amsterdam. Finally enter the
number of passengers that will be included on this booking. Once
all this information is entered, quickly check it is correct, then hit
the "find flights" button.
After a few seconds the flight
options will appear and the prices will look ridiculously cheap.
This is because you are looking at the base price before all the "taxes
& charges" are added which will typically be £38 extra per person on a
return flight from the UK to Amsterdam.
Once your flight options become
available, select the flight times to suit your budget and lifestyle and
then complete all the names of the passengers that will travel in the
booking. Remember to use peoples real names or actual initials as
changes to names can be expensive with budget airlines. As an
example don't book the flight for Mr B Smith because you know him as
Bill when his real name is William. It's the name on his passport
that really matters and the names entered into the airlines website
should be identical to the names on passports.
Budget airlines have heavy fees
if you wish to make a name change. This is because they do not
want people buying up large numbers of flights then creating a secondary
market, with people selling their seats later at a higher price on
auction sites etc.
